I seriously started making music with the mothers little helpers (1998-1999) where I played the drums. Our set
consisted mostly of cover songs from the 60`s and 70`s. Then there was God`5 Grief, former
Nova (1998-2002) with a perfect glamrock attitude. Since 2000 I've had several jazz projects going on
followed by the time of the german pop band Lily (2004-2005). And there have always been the solo or band
projects of Marcus Auerbach (1998 - 2008) with different names like Susie Snowflake or Namegiven.
During my time in Melbourne (2008) I formed the band Cat in a Tree, featering Australian songwriter Merrin Bailey.
From 2005 until now I worked with songwriter and composer Martin Myoni. In 2009 I joined Dectera Lugh just
after they stoped playing middle age music, so now the band is developping a new style...

- several EPs by Marcus Auerbach (2000 - 2007) - bass and partly audio production

Since 2006 I have been playing bass on albums of bands other than my own ones to enhance my musical universe: Martin Myoni before the band Myoni existed, for Oktobermusik.KG (Martyn Johanus) and for Micheal Adeney, Australien songwriter. I also did some audio productions (see discography).
I learned to play a little bit of piano, guitars and drums before I decided to stay with the bass. Unfortunately an accident (crashed hand) prevented me from becomming a double bass player and going deeper into jazz. Like everybody, my way was accompanied by great artists I have listened to and I have learned from: Mew, Muse, Incubus, Rolling Stones, Crash Test Dummies, Deep Purple, Martin Medeski & Wood, The Boptists, Stan Getz, Bill Evans, Klez.e, etc(!)
Apart from some lessons I took to learn playing keyboard and double bass, I have always learned through teaching. And there has been a lot of theoretical education due to my studies of musicology which definately helped to understand music, especially the work over jazz theory and musical skill development.
