Tobias Marx studied musicology, communicational science and educational science at TU-B (Technische Universität Berlin) with focus on music psychology, learning processes and empirical research. He finished his Magister Artium (M.A.) very good in 2009.

Since 2009 Tobias Marx is member of the German Society for Music Psychology (DGM: Deutsche Gesellschaft für Musikpsychologie).

From 2005 to 2008 Tobias Marx worked as tutor for the school of musicology running reception, some office enquieries and mainly providing technical support for lecturers and students and implementation such as websites and computer networks, organising events, exhibitions and conferences.

From 2007 to 2008 Tobias Marx was elected member of the council of student employers of the TU-B with focus on conflict management, teamwork efficacy, office and IT.

In 2008 Tobias Marx spent 8 month in Melbourne Australia.
